What happens when stunning design meets superb craftmanship?

Jason Skene and Christine Travaglini are the owners and Directors of Ideal Kitchens and Wardrobes. They began the business after moving back to Jason’s home province of Canterbury from Melbourne in early 2009. 

Jason  is an experienced craftsman with a range of trade related training and qualifications. Starting as an apprentice cabinetmaker after leaving school, he’s always worked in or stayed close to the industry. Before the move back to New Zealand, he started and ran a successful joinery business in Melbourne working on a range of projects, but specialising in kitchens. Together with Christine, he has successfully renovated or developed a number of residential homes in New Zealand and Australia – so knows first-hand how stressful this can be.

Christine  has always excelled at things artistic. Her passion for design and aesthetic forms took her to the Tasmanian University of Fine Arts where she completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She travelled extensively overseas before working for an interior design firm in Melbourne.

Christine currently works part time at Ideal Kitchens and Wardrobes - while daughter Georgia is at kindergarten. She still manages to find time to paint with some wonderful examples of her work adorning the walls of the family home. A serial renovator, she’s never short of advice, guidance and tips for customers looking to add value to their homes by renovating their kitchen.
